For the interveiw section of this project, I interveiwed Jacob Stein. What I found during this interveiw, was how difficult it was to live during The Great Depression. Everyone was practaically unemployed and it was very hard to find food to feed not only your family, but yourself aswell. Nothing really was changing. He would see the same thing every single day. The Great Depression was horrible time for everyone.

I believe that this is a good picture that well explains the troubles in America throught this time in History. The reason I think this is because in the picture you can see a street in what looks like New York during The Great Depression, and as you can tell they're are hardly any people in the streets. The reason for this is because during thisi dreadful time, not many people had money to spend and others were afraid to leave their home because of the fact that they may get robbed of the little they had.

In this pictue you can see a man infront of an old Alabama grocery store. The first thing i noticed when I saw this photo was the prices of the different foods in the window and how cheap they are compared to prices today. In the picture you can see a man in a suit standing infront of a market, staring into the window. The setting looks dry and lonesome. The reason i feel this when looking at the picture is because there are no other people in the photo and as you can tell, the photo was taken from the street, so there were no cars there aswell. The words i see are small and or parically cut off. You can see the name of the grocery store and some prices and products in the window. In the photo i also see food sitting outside such as flour and watermelons.
I think that this image was taken to show how scarce the source of food was in the area at the time. In the image it looks as if the man is about to walk into the store, but he's having second thoughts as he looks into the window. I think this image was made sometime during The Great Depression or sometime similar to that. I think the aduance of the picture may have been readers of the newspaper sometime in the early 1900's. The tools used to creat this were a camera. From examning the immage, i can see that it was taken during a depressing time. Something i think is missing from this image is more people can proudcts outside the store instead of one man and empty shelves. If someone made this photo today, there would be huge meatle signs outside the store with products and large shelves with flowers and plants on them outside the store. Somethings that would still most likely be the same are the name of the store and people standing around the entrance.
In the picture i can see a very old house and dry dead cornfield. The first thing i noticed in the picture is how dry and dusty the soil is. Some of the objects shown in the picture include a few houses in the background. It seems as if they are arranged in a way in which they are formed in a circle, so that they can all share the farm land. The physical setting of the photo is dry, dirty, and unpopulated. Some other details o can clearly see are some other shrubs located to the left that look dead as well. I think this image was made to focus on the fact of how thirsty the soil was, making it hard to grow crops for food and money. I think this image was made in the 1930's. I think the aduance to the mage was a local family; they took the picture to reflect back on what they had faced during this time. From examining the picture, i can tell that were the picture taken was very very hot. Also, i can tell that the family that owned this farm was making little to no money according to the look of the rows of corn and shrubs. I think something missing from the image is maybe a farmer. If someone made this picture today, something that would be different is the soil would be moist, there would be big tall green stalks, and there would also most likely be a gathering machine to gather all the crops instead of gathering them by hand. When i look at this picture, i cant help but wonder; how did the family that owned this farm survive in the world?

In this picture you can see a waiting room for colored people only. The first thing i noticed in the picture was the name of the waiting room in blog bold letters; "COLORED". The only object in the photo other than a building in the background, is a sing pointing to a building. The physical setting in the photo is a city. The words that you and i can both see are "COLORED. Waiting Room". There are not many other deatails. The reason i think this image was made was because of discrmiation during tthe time of white and black people. I think this image was made inthe mid 1940's. I think this image was meant for the audance of everyone to see and tell of the discrimation of people apart. I can lear from examining this imaga that during this time, people of color were publicly humilated for no reason. I think that some people, buildings, and streets are missing form this image. If someone made this today, i think they would be hated/sued/arristed. I dont think anything would be the same. When looking at this image i cant help but think who made this? what was their purpose? What was the point? why?
Bethlehem-Fairfield shipyards, Baltimore, Maryland. A drinking fountain
In this picture i can see a water pump in what im assuming is a soup kitchen. The first thing i noticed in this picture was the condition of the place this photo was taken. Some objects i can see in the image are pipes, a barrel, and w broken window. The physical setting of the picture is poor, and not very well kept up. The word i can see in the photo include "WATER", "SOUP", and "WHITE". I think the image was made to show the true freatures of he state of what everything was in. Something i can learn for examining the image is how much better we have it as people today. Today, we would just go to the store to buy what we need; a atore which was nice, clean, and kept up. Here in this picture, you can tell that this time was hard to manage and also that it may have been hard to get food. I think something that may be missing from this image is a person. I think a person would have better showed how the time was hard. If this image were made today,

Money
no one has enough money
working hard to pay for food
the day is always sunny
people have their own way
to pay for their home
working hard to support their families
they all find their way to stay
everything happening at once
people rushing the streets
yet no one ever ever ever
misses a beat
